Fatigue and pain turned around with the Lightning Process

I remember when Odette came into the room on the first day of the Lightning Process Seminar in  experiencing pain and fatigue early 2016, and I am amazed at what she has achieved since that day. Since writing the testimonial below she has since made it to Everest base camp whilst on her second volunteering project, this time in Nepal!

Odette’s story

Odette back to fencing

“The lightning process completely changed my life and without it I’d still be sat on my sofa doing nothing along with most other chronic fatigue sufferers. After a long process of deciding what was making me so ill, I had stopped training at fencing (my passion) and was struggling to stay awake in class. I no longer did anything a normal 17 year old would do! I sat at home and barely moved because every move was too tiring. I was told by the hospital I would never fence again and that I wouldn’t complete my A levels. This is when i found the lightning process and i’m so glad i did! After day 1 walking in very fragile, I came out walked my dog and went into the gym (something I’d missed doing for a long time). The lightning process changed my life!

After completing the process I began training again, I completed college, and got into my first choice university! On top of this, I also completed one of my biggest dreams and went volunteering in Tanzania for 7 weeks, where we built girls toilets, and also completed a 19 day trek of which we walked 270KM with at least 25KG bags. Before the lightning process that would have been totally impossible! I am now on a gap year living in Paris and training full time with Rio Bronze medallist and will be going out to Nepal to volunteer again and trek to Everest Base Camp. Without the lightning process none of these things would of been possible and I am forever grateful. I cannot thank Heather enough for all the help through the process and afterwards, you have truly changed my life!

ME/CFS, Food Intolerance, Surgery and the Lightning Process, Jessica’s story

“It’s one thing to intellectually believe in the power of the Lightning Process but quite another to experience it!”

Jessica found that for her, M.E. and general anaesthetic for surgery didn’t mix! She describes how an experience of surgery which had in the past lead to a severe reaction to the general anaesthetic. She then describes how she was able to use the Lightning Process tools to help her body react normally and recover from the anaesthetics normally.  She’d had M.E., food intolerance and gut problems for years, trying so many different approaches before she finally decided to take the Lightning Process route. She embraced it totally and hasn’t looked back since, even her osteopath noticed the improvements in her body straight away and she can now walk for miles easily and her life has changed dramatically for the better!

Jessica’s Story

“When I first opened my gluey eyes after the general anaesthetic in October, my body began to shake uncontrollably with the growing awareness of acute pain (not quite a 10 but near enough to scare the bejeebers out of me) and unsurprisingly a part of me dîd panic – thinking I was right back to day one of M.E.

Seventeen months earlier I’d woken from the same operation to find that within 36 hours I couldn’t propel one leg in front of the other due to the anaesthetic.

BUT, BUT, BUT this time was different. Thirty six hours came and went and I was still walking, I dîd feel lousy of course, but who wouldn’t? Then, on the fifth day, I found myself striding along the Euston Road with a huge grin on my face, in the full and clear knowledge that I was not going to react to the anaesthetic as before because my body, my brain, my belief system were and are completely different. It’s one thing to intellectually believe in the power of the Lightning Process but quite another to experience it!

I completed the L.P. in mid-September and every day and in every way I notice the difference in me, from all the different foods I can now gorge on to the miles and miles I’ve walked to letting the stressy things go.

Without the genius of Phil Parker and the kind, patient, humorous and wise tuition from Heather Thomas, I wouldn’t be writing this now. Thank you to all the people who’ve made the Lightning Process a reality. I feel I’ve been given a second chance or, more accurately, I’ve given myself a second chance. Hooray!”

Abbie turns her life around by taking the Lightning Process

Heather Thomas

Abbie’s story is below describing her experience of turning around 6 years of not having a full life with the Lightning Process. It’s been such a great start to 2017, already some 2017 Lightning Process graduates starting out with new lives ahead, I’ve also caught up with some clients who did the LP years ago and it is exciting to hear what they have achieved!

Abbie was one of the people in 2016 that the kind and very generous woman who wanted to help fund other people to do the LP course (who prefers to remain anonymous but used the LP to get rid of pain herself), provided some financial help in 2016 to do the LP. Another person who benefited was a 16 year old who is now back in school full time. Another person has made fantastic progress with stopping pain in her foot and is now doing things she hasn’t been able to do for a long time. Her story will follow.

Abbie’s Story

“Since undertaking the LP in July this year I finally feel alive and living. After suffering from ME for 6 years, since I was 15 years old I took initiative and it’s paid off tremendously. I can now join in with my contemporaries in everything! I have been shopping, to the gym, walking. I’m able to concentrate for long periods of time, stay up late and wake up early. The biggest achievement so far has been to be able to go clubbing, something I always missed out on. This picture (not a great one- I had quite a few celebratory drinks!) just shows how happy and content I am to be able to be healthy and happy, with nothing holding me back.”

Medical student’s story: Post-viral Fatigue to Half-Marathon with the Lightning Process

Jilly describes so well what the Lightning Process means to her in her story below. She is passionate about it and has used it for great success! A very inspiring young woman.

Jilly at the finishing line, post-viral fatigue overcome completely

While the Lightning Process is powerful in its near-immediate potential to heal and restore, for me the sense of empowerment it brings about is especially wonderful; you acquire vital skills at your fingertips, allowing you to quickly and reliably deal with all manner of challenges that may arise long after the seminar.

The LP can be hard to define in exact terms but I can liken it to Roadside Assistance for your mind and body, which quickly restores optimal conditions, so that, post-seminar you are raring to go. Crucially, however, when you ‘drive’ off, you do so in the knowledge that the LP has provided you with an amazing DIY repair kit within the metaphorical boot. A tool kit that lasts for life, is timeless, free to use and versatile in its far-reaching applications, yet perfectly problem-specific in its capacity to repair.

I completed the LP seminar with Heather Thomas in November 2015 to overcome post-viral fatigue syndrome and the results were amazing. Attending the course however was not a decision I made lightly. Initially I was sceptical, a lot was promised and the medical student in me was wary of the minimal evidence-base. On enquiry though I found that the LP is simply neat package of evidence-based methods, formatted and delivered in a forward-thinking way that yields outstanding results.

Since completing the LP, I have returned to medical school, and beforehand spent five weeks hiking and hostelling in Peru and Ecuador, worked as a science tutor, completed a half marathon and most recently completed my first triathlon. It has been great and my body has facilitated rather than limited this, which was a welcome role reversal!

The LP is an integral part of all aspects of my life now. This sense of trust in my personal toolkit that is the LP is what makes me excited and hopeful for the future, physically and mentally more robust than I have ever been.

From ME/CFS to Triathlon and Ironman using Lightning Process: Peter’s story

Peter turned around years of ME/CFS using the Lightning Process in 2011, Great to hear what he has been up to since he did the LP. He keeps on showing just what can be achieved in health and fitness when you have the Lightning Process

“In short, the Lightning Process has been nothing short of transformational in my life.  Not only has “life after LP” included several promotions and international placpeter-mac-linkdin-photoements with work, but it has also sparked off a passion in amateur triathlon.

You will see on LinkedIn that I took part in a couple of Long Distance Open Water swims a couple of years ago (shortly after taking the LP) to raise money for ME (and gave a plug to the Lightning Process on my Just Giving narrative).

This past two years I have also completed a couple of triathlons in 35 degree heat in Thailand where I now reside.

Last year’s Sprint Triathlon took just over 2 hours. 2 weeks ago I finished the Olympic Triathlon in Hua Hin, Thailand in under 4 hours. Photos attached.

I will be competing in Ironman 70.3 Thailand in 2017. Just got back from a 65km bike ride in fact as training distances

are increasing.

In summary, Heather did a wonderful job and I will be forever thankful.

With gratitude and love,

Peter”

After a conversation with a friend, I was considering just how useful the Lightning Process tools are for dealing with those things that happen in life that are not so good. Those times could lure us into imagining the worst possible scenario, over and over, and to live life in fear. The Lightning Process is the tool to deal with things that can happen in life in a way that enables finding the best in whatever life brings. Not only can I celebrate recovering my health through the process, but I have a special kit always with me to use to deal with whatever might come along. A new way of living and engaging in a world which can be full of surprises.

I’m looking forward to my first ‘Building Your Future Seminar’ for 2011 on Saturday, a chance to see some of the remarkable changes in people months or years on from their original seminar… I hardly recognised some of them last time, particularly one woman in her 40s that I hadn’t seen since she did her LP 2 years ago, where she astounded everyone by starting to walk normally after years mainly using a wheelchair. She claims she has more stamina now because of the Lightning Process, than she had when she was in her fit 20s! This despite being housebound with ME/CFS for years in her 30s!

Snowy Tuesday

Winter snow has arrived in Kings Langley! This morning I had a call from someone who did the LP six weeks ago for fibromyalgia telling me how thankful she is… no pain at all, so much energy, her friends and family are astounded. She booked her honeymoon to exotic countries on Saturday without a hesitation and she has also used the LP to help her have the most successful month at work too! She just wanted to call to tell me how much her life has changed! What a brilliant job I have and how lucky I am! A walk in the snowy woods is called for now!
